"I thought we did much better as a team, but we still need to hustle more up and down the field," Ebonee Carter said.
The game looked as if it were in the Pirates favor as they struck first in scoring, making there first of three goals in the first half within 15 minutes and 40 seconds of the game.
Head Coach Dane Straight was very pleased with how the girls all played together as a team.
"We are staying positive, we are just needing those lucky breaks to get us going and unfortunately, we aren't and we are needing team speed, which is something I can't train. You either have it or you don't and right now, we don't," Coach Straight said.
Nikki Martineau would be the only girl to score for the T-Birds as she made two goals in the first half, assisted by teammate Karie Hoover.
"We are getting so close and doing so much better. We just need to finish the plays and not ever quit," Carter said.
There were no yellow or red cards given out to either team during the game.
Martineau, Hoover, Becca Stanton, Meghan Gunter, Emily Arneson, Kristina McDowell, and Jennifer Vacha were the starters for the T-Birds.
"There were a couple questionable calls, our girls attitudes were on the poor side, but they really played very well," Coach Straight said.
Straight also added that the team is trying to get faster and pick up some more speed in the back field. He also said they just need to execute and finish.
The women's team headed out to Colorado last week for a weekend round of games.
They picked up two huge wins this weekend, one over
Western Wyoming and the second over Air Force Prep Academy.
The Lady T-Birds will play again on Monday, October 8, at Northern Oklahoma College.
